A solid 1970s piece from Election (Election S.A.), built around a serious mechanical engine. By the 1970s, like many traditional Swiss brands, Election shifted to outsourcing specialized movements for niche space-age complications rather than developing them in-house. Inside this heavy brushed steel tonneau case sits an A. Schild 2082, the digital module built directly on the automatic AS 2072 base caliber. The 2082's architecture features an indirectly driven minute, allowing a lower profile for the digital module. While the AS 2072/2082 is most commonly found in a 21-jewel configuration, Election opted for the premium 25-jewel version. The extra jewels add longevity to the automatic winding module, proving Election wanted to position this as a higher-grade, substantial take on 70s retro horology.
