Impex

Another space-age piece from my collection: The Impex "Digital" 17 Jewels. What I really like about this one is the case geometry. You get that heavy vertical brushing right across the front flat plane, but the sharp angled facets drop off into polished edges on the sides, in what looks like a well-preserved original factory finish. Instead of a fully open crystal, it uses that black mask framing the window, complete with the white center-line and red pointer triangles that give it a clean instrument-gauge feel. Impex was mainly a Swiss export and private-label name back in the day, sourcing 17-jewel ebauches and dressing them up in aggressive cases like this hex-barrel shape.
