Sicura Automatic

One of the first vintage jump hours in my collection, and still one of the most eye-catching. This Sicura (Ronda 1239 Automatic 17 Jewels) packs all the 1970s Space Age vibes into a single case. Running on its original bracelet, it never tails to draw a question or two whenever it's on the wrist. Sicura was instrumental in the Swiss Watch industry struggle to keep mechanical watchmaking alive during the Quartz Crisis by pushing wild, unconventional "mechanical digital" layouts. Sicura's CEO Ernest Schneider would go on to purchase and revive the Breitling brand name in 1979 (eventually phasing out Sicura altogether), but these funky, bold 70s jump hours remain the core of the brand's true legacy.
