Tressa Giant Digit | Automatic

This Tressa Giant-Digit has a striking "eye of the tiger" striped amber dial, and unlike the classic Tressa Saltomatic models, it features a date window. To accommodate the date complication, it was usually equipped with the AS 2073, considered more problematic to maintain and keep running smoothly compared to its no-date counterpart, the AS 2072, but the striking layout makes it a rewarding piece to have in the collection. The original Tressa Watch Co. was founded in 1966 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, and built a reputation for bold, avant-garde designs throughout the 1970s. Ultimately falling victim to the Quartz Crisis, the Swiss company closed in 1987 and its remaining assets were acquired by Rado. The Tressa name lives on today, operating as a modern brand in Argentina that distributes quartz and digital watches.
