Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. Black dial with orange chronograph hand and rotating internal minute scale. The movement is confirmed from the movement photograph as Omega Cal. 865.
The Seamaster Chronostop Ref. 145.008 is one of the more unusual versions of Omega’s late-1960s Chronostop.
At approximately 41 mm, it was a large watch for its period. The tonneau-shaped steel case contains a black dial with the distinctive orange chronograph seconds hand and an internal rotating scale controlled by the additional crown.
The Chronostop is a simplified chronograph. Its single pusher starts and stops the orange hand, while releasing the pusher after timing resets it. Inside is Omega’s manual-wind Caliber 865, a 17-jewel movement confirmed by the movement photograph of this watch.
This example is the version collectors commonly call the “Roulette,” distinguished by its unusual rotating internal scale. It is a very characteristic example of Omega’s experimental approach to sports-watch design in the late 1960s.
