Condition
Good vintage condition. Silver dial with applied baton markers and date at 3 o’clock. Fluted bezel and stainless-steel case show light signs of age and use. Fitted with a brown leather strap.
This Ulysse Nardin Ref. 10921-9 comes from around the 1970s and represents a very different period in the history of the manufacture from the complicated watches for which the modern company is better known.
It is a restrained automatic watch with a stainless-steel case, silver dial, applied baton markers, fluted bezel and framed date window at 3 o’clock.
The dial is particularly simple, carrying the Ulysse Nardin name and anchor emblem above the center and “Automatic” below it.
Published examples of Ref. 10921-9 confirm that it belongs to this family of automatic date watches, but different movement information appears for watches carrying the reference. Until this particular watch is opened, I prefer to identify the movement simply as automatic mechanical rather than assign an unconfirmed caliber.
