Exactus
A vintage Exactus Antimagnetic with subsidiary seconds and the 17-jewel A. Schild Cal. 1130 manual-wind movement.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the gold-colored case and light marks to the dial. Applied Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock. The movement is confirmed from the movement photograph as an Exactus-signed A. Schild Cal. 1130 with 17 jewels.
Exactus is one of the many smaller Swiss watch names that were active during the middle of the 20th century.
This example has a traditional dress-watch layout with applied Arabic numerals, gold-tone hands and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. The dial is marked “ANCRE 17 RUBIS” and “ANTIMAGNETIC.”
The movement photograph gives us considerably more information. The movement is signed EXACTUS and 17 JEWELS, while the caliber marking “1130” is visible beneath the balance.
This identifies it as the A. Schild Caliber 1130, a well-known Swiss manual-wind movement with 17 jewels and a lever escapement. The AS 1130 was widely used by Swiss manufacturers and became known for its relatively large and robust construction.
The exact case material has not yet been confirmed, so it is deliberately left unspecified rather than assuming from its gold-colored appearance that it is gold plated.
